How do we integrate wounds from the past in a way that does not inhibit our wholeness in the present?
How do we balance compassion and empathy for others with dignity and respect for ourselves? How do we risk staying committed to being loving, even though we know it also leaves us vulnerable to being wounded? How do we reclaim our spiritual stories, practices, and lives from systems and cultures of abuse? What tools can we use to move from wounded to liberated? |
Reflection + Community = Growth
Join Dr. Holiday at 1440 Multiversity in Scotts Valley, California for a retreat designed to support women of color who want to transform their relationship with personal and cultural wounds.
Together, we will explore an array of paths and practices to touch our innate wholeness deeply, create space to transform old wounds that feel “stuck” in our hearts and psyches, and develop insight into our cognitive, emotional and spiritual patterns.
We will use insights from Buddhism, Yoga, Christianity, contemporary psychology and indigenous wisdom traditions to inform our work.
Ample space will be given to explore the impact of the unique social and cultural burdens and systemic trauma we face, along with ceremony and rituals designed to help us change our relationship with those burdens.
This retreat includes a series of dynamic talks on these themes, experiential group and individual exercises to help embody healthy boundaries, witnessing and testifying in pairs, intention-setting, and the space to integrate what is uncovered through guided meditation, Yoga Nidra, and restorative yoga practice.
No prior experience with yoga or meditation is necessary. Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in to each session and bring a journal, something to write with, and a spirit of curiosity.
Why Attend?
To co-create a powerful circle of women who are ready to shift old wounds that feel stuck
To highlight the importance of healing ourselves in service of cleansing long lineages of pain and oppression
To engage in purposeful and transformative inner work as a form of activism
