The Fire Practice offerings started as a response to a literal wildfire that destroyed our house and almost everything we owned in August of 2020.
It has evolved into a space to provide opportunities to cultivate the skills to sit with whatever is consuming you at this time.
All are welcome. All offerings are free.
If you are interested in supporting my work and recovery from the f#CZU Lightning Complex Fire, please consider becoming a member or making a one-time gift to The Care Forest Project.

See that photo of the precious Red Schoolhouse? The one I greeted every day to and from work, trained people to be yoga teachers in, met my neighbors in, and loved dearly? Then there is a photo of what's left. The school bell is still there, in the ashes. But you know what else? The trees around it are still standing. If they can stand, then so can I. I am hoping when I do finally go get to see with my own eyes what awaits that I can also see the brave trees, not just what is burned. I also have bells - small handheld ones - on alters at the bases of a few trees on our land, one sits beneath Ganesha. I hope it's still there, or that I can somehow find it. I will ring it and welcome whatever comes next. *** The confirmation came. Our cabins are gone. But you know who is still there? Ganehsa. The altar where I placed the bell burned, but do you know what my amazing retired firefighter neighbor who went back to check on things did? He found the bell. And he rang it on my behalf. If I close my eyes and listen, I think I can hear it.
